AI visibility — so an assistant can cite you

The audit is CZK 3,900 and the changes start at CZK 9,900. You find out whether AI crawlers may read the site, whether sentences can be quoted from it, and whether the name and phone match off the site too. A place in a ChatGPT answer cannot be guaranteed. The monthly report comes from server logs.

Where do AI assistants get their answers?

Each from somewhere different, which is why all of it has to be covered. ChatGPT search and Microsoft Copilot draw on Bing — if you are not in Bing Webmaster Tools you effectively do not exist for them, and signing up takes ten minutes. AI Overviews and Gemini draw on Google. Perplexity and Claude run their own crawlers, which your server has to let in.

The chance that an assistant can see you at all can be improved. A mention cannot be bought. Anyone promising first place in ChatGPT is selling something they do not control.

What actually gets done

Six things. The first four are work on the website; the last two happen off it and have the highest impact.

What cannot be guaranteed

A position in an AI assistant answer cannot be bought or promised. The answer varies with how the question is phrased, with the model, and from one day to the next — one day it names you, the next it does not. Anyone guaranteeing you first place in ChatGPT is selling something they do not control.

What can be influenced is four things: being allowed to be crawled, being quotable, being machine-readable, and being mentioned somewhere other than your own website. That last one matters most and is the least technical — models build their picture of a company from repeated mentions on other people’s sites, and your website is only the confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I raise the chance that AI mentions me?
Three steps: register the domain in Bing Webmaster Tools, because ChatGPT search draws on Bing; let AI crawlers through to the site; and write content so that specific sentences with numbers can be quoted from it. A position cannot be guaranteed, but those three things decide whether you can be named at all.
Is this the same as SEO?
It overlaps heavily — good SEO is the foundation. The difference is in how you write: a search engine offers links, an assistant quotes sentences. That is why opening paragraphs and headings get rewritten into questions and answers with concrete numbers.
How will I know it is working?
From two sources. The server log shows which AI crawlers reached you and how often, and analytics shows referrals from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai. On top of that, target queries get tested manually once a month and the answers recorded.
Should I block AI crawlers so they do not take my content?
It is your call and I understand both sides. For a company that gets enquiries through its website, though, blocking means an assistant cannot talk about you. My own choice is deliberate: the crawlers are allowed and named explicitly in robots.txt.

Want to know if AI can see you at all?

Send me the address. I will check whether crawlers may read the site and whether the copy is citable. I do not promise a place in the answer.
